毎年、私がニューヨークへパフォーマンスをしに行く時
クイーンズにある“ルイ・アームストロングの住家”を訪れる。
彼はもうずいぶん前に天国へ旅立ったものの、
そこへ立てば彼の生命のエネルギーが感じられる
私が“What a wonderful world”を歌うとき…
このニューヨーク、クイーンズに佇む
ルイの家を訪れて以来は
そう、その家に残る彼のプライベートアワーズの
録音を聴いて、彼の愉快で愛すべき肉声をたくさん耳にして
涙がこぼれてしまうほど、感動して止まないのです。
今年も11月3日～Autumn in New York ツアーです。
皆さん一緒に行きましょう！

“What a wonderful world”
Every year, when I perform in New York,
I make a point of going to Louis’ House in Queens.
Although he passed many years ago,
you can still feel his presence.
I began singing this song ,after
I visited visited Louis’ House in Queens New York,
and heard a home-recording that he made during a party.
There was so much loved and joy in his voice.
I was literally moved to tears.
